Overview

Jumeirah Bali presented a Kamasan Painting exhibition as part of its commitment to embracing the Majapahit cultural narrative that shapes the resort’s architectural and artistic identity.

This film was created to document the exhibition while giving voice to the artist behind the work.

Kamasan painting is one of Bali’s classical art forms, known for its intricate detail, symbolic storytelling, and historical depth. Rather than simply displaying the artworks, this video focused on the painter’s perspective. Through an interview driven narrative, the audience is invited to understand what the artist brings to the exhibition and how the paintings connect to heritage, philosophy, and place.

The goal was to position Jumeirah Bali not only as a luxury destination, but as a space that actively supports and celebrates local culture. The final film presents the exhibition as a meaningful cultural dialogue between tradition and contemporary hospitality.

What We Do

Project Type
Art Exhibition Documentary Film

Industry
Luxury Hospitality and Cultural Arts

Objective
Create a cinematic exhibition film that highlights Kamasan painting, the featured artist, and the cultural alignment with Jumeirah Bali’s Majapahit concept.

Approach
Filming fine art requires careful visual control. Paintings must be captured with accurate color, preserved detail, and dimensional depth without distortion. One of the primary considerations was ensuring that the texture, line work, and symbolic elements of the Kamasan paintings remained faithful on screen.

We selected key artworks that strongly represented both the artist’s identity and the conceptual direction of Jumeirah Bali. Through intentional lighting and precise framing, we emphasized craftsmanship while maintaining a refined visual tone suitable for a luxury brand. The interview structure allowed the story behind the art to guide the narrative.
